In response to Tumblr’s formatting updates, we have made some modifications to EditableReblogs to allow continued editing of content above your additions to a post.
PLEASE NOTE!!! This extension does NOT modify how posts appear on the dash. They will still appear in the new layout; this change only affects what you can do with previous posts in the editor. We will probably be adding a separate feature to change how posts display on the dash, if desired, but that is beyond the scope of this update.
As always, we will be standing vigilant for any further developments on how this update works in the coming days. Feel free to bring questions or comments to our support chat, support blog askbox, or GitHub issues list.
okay since people are confused to what works and what doesn’t work when it comes to the new text editor here’s a handy list of things that work and don’t work so far
Dashback does not work when it comes to the the new text editor. It hasn’t been updated since May, and I don’t know if it’ll be updated again, so don’t install it if you’re looking for it to fix the new text editor.
Classic Editor does not work. I haven’t tested it out, but I believe it does not work properly, since I’ve seen several people say it doesn’t work.
The only extension/script that I’ve seen that has worked is the Tumblr Reblog Fix. If you want to use this, though, you have to install Tampermonkey for Chrome or Greasemonkey for Firefox. I’ve tested it out and it works, however it does sometimes add “my reply goes here” or something like that posts sometimes, but you can easily erase that.
If you don’t feel like installing anything, there is this guide and this guide that’ll show you how to cut posts manually.
I’ll try to update this in case anything else comes out or if new extensions are added/start to float around.
Like everyone in the rp community, we freaked when we saw Tumblr’s newest update, eliminating our ability to cut posts. Luckily, we found a solution that WORKS. Follow these instructions:
